About screenres.app
A privacy-first screen diagnostic tool built by display technology enthusiasts for developers, designers, and power users.
My Mission
screenres.app was born from a simple frustration: every screen resolution checker on the web was either plastered with ads, harvesting user data, or lacking the advanced features developers actually need.
I set out to build the most comprehensive, most beautiful, and most private screen diagnostic tool on the internet. High performance, no first-party tracking, no compromises.
Privacy First
Zero first-party cookies. All calculations occur in your browser; no data is sent externally.
Instant Results
No loading spinners, no server calls. Every metric is computed in real-time using native browser APIs.
Developer-Grade
PPI calculators, CSS media query generators, responsive sandboxes — tools pros actually use.
Beautifully Designed
Clean dark-mode interface that respects your eyes and sets the standard for utility design.
About Me
Editorial Policy & Technical Accuracy
I am committed to providing developers, designers, and display buyers with the most precise, up-to-date, and technically rigorous information about display specifications and diagnostic procedures. Every resolution comparison, guide, and calculator on this site adheres to the following editorial standards:
- Technical Precision: All technical articles and metrics are vetted against the latest W3C, MDN, and manufacturer documentation. I don't rely on automated SEO scraping; every specification in the device database is verified by me against published specs.
- Rigorous Testing: Diagnostic recommendations are based on actual physical device performance testing, screen color calibration, and pixel diagnostics.
- Ethical Disclosures: screenres.app is supported by non-intrusive advertisements. I never accept payment for product recommendations, and all resources are completely free to use.
Testing Devices & Infrastructure
To guarantee that the screen checkers, resolution tests, and viewport diagnostics render correctly across all platforms, I test the code against a dedicated physical hardware matrix. I don't rely solely on browser emulators:
- macOS & Apple Ecosystem: MacBook Pro M3 Max (14-inch Liquid Retina XDR, scaling tested at 1x, 2x), iPad Pro 11" (M2), iPhone 15 Pro Max (Super Retina XDR, Dynamic Island viewport testing).
- Windows & PC Ecosystem: Custom PC running Windows 11 with multi-monitor setups (Dell UltraSharp U2723QE 4K IPS, ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144Hz IPS gaming monitor, and a legacy 1080p TN panel). I test multi-display scaling and refresh rate overrides.
- Android Ecosystem: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (WQHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 120Hz) and Google Pixel 7a (FHD+ OLED, 90Hz) running Chrome and Firefox Mobile.
- Browsers Tested: Google Chrome (Stable/Canary), Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari (Desktop & iOS), Microsoft Edge, and Opera.
Corrections & Bug Reports Policy
I strive for perfect accuracy. If a screen metric, aspect ratio calculation, or diagnostic result is incorrect on your display configuration, please report it:
- I review all bug reports within 48 hours.
- Corrections to guide articles are logged in the changelog (see below).
- You can submit diagnostic logs directly via the contact page or email hello@screenres.app.
